C&S leader, Baba Aladura, dies at 103

Prophet Samuel Adefila Abidoye, the Spiritual Father and Chairman of Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, has passed away.

The church’s Secretariat, led by Secretary-General Special Apostle Ademola Odetundun, confirmed the news, stating that he died peacefully at his Ilorin home in Kwara state at the age of 103, around 10:00 am on a Sunday morning.

Special Apostle Odetundun revealed that the late spiritual leader had just had breakfast and was preparing for a service when he expressed a desire to rest for a while.

Shortly after, he passed away peacefully. Burial arrangements will be announced later.

The remains of the Spiritual Father have been taken to a mortuary in the state capital.

Noteworthy among his achievements, as highlighted by church members, was the relocation of the church’s seat of power from Kaduna to Galilee in Orile-Igbon, Oyo state, which has since transformed into a mega city.

Born on June 26 as a Prince in Omu Aran, Irepodun Local Government of Kwara State, to Odetundun Abegunde and Tinuade Tinuola, Baba Aladura, Dr. Prophet Samuel Adefila Abidoye, began his schooling at N. A. Primary School, Omu Aran, in May 1934.

Following the loss of his father on February 14, 1938, he was introduced to the Cherubim and Seraphim Church around 1938 by Reverend Man of God, Senior Apostle Prophet Peter Oyinloye. After memorizing the catechism, he received the grace of seeing Lord Jesus Christ in his dreams and in a trance in 1958.
