Crisis over Akeredolu’s health affected Ondo’s progress- acting governor Aiyedatiwa

The Acting Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has issued a heartfelt call to the people and stakeholders of the state, urging them to unite and collaborate in advancing the vision of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu for the progress of the state.

Governor Akeredolu, currently on a medical vacation in Germany, had delegated power to Aiyedatiwa, a move communicated to the state House of Assembly via a letter on Wednesday.

In a statewide broadcast on Thursday, Acting Governor Aiyedatiwa acknowledged the recent political crisis that gripped the state, emphasizing the need to put aside past differences and collectively contribute to the state’s development.

“Yesterday is already behind us. This is the time to carry aloft, with love and affection for one another, the laudable vision and mission of the governor for the state,” Aiyedatiwa stated, urging genuine support, cooperation, and dedication from all government members.

He addressed the temporary setback caused by the political crisis, expressing the urgency to return to a path of accelerated progress. Aiyedatiwa stressed the importance of unity, calling for a collective effort to overcome distractions and work towards the welfare and security of the people.

The Acting Governor expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, and other stakeholders at both state and national levels for their intervention in resolving the crisis.

As Ondo State aims to move past recent challenges, Aiyedatiwa’s plea for unity and collaboration stands as a pivotal call to action for all involved in the governance and development of the state.
