Breaking: Petrol production begins at Dangote refinery

The Dangote Refinery, a $20 billion venture led by billionaire Aliko Dangote, has officially commenced petrol production, marking a pivotal moment for Nigeria’s energy sector.

This achievement is anticipated to ease the ongoing petrol shortage affecting the nation, providing much-needed relief to millions of Nigerians.

“This refinery is set to drive growth, development, and prosperity by supplying energy to our people,” stated Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, during a press briefing on Wednesday.

Dangote extended his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu’s administration for creating a favorable environment that enabled the success of this initiative.

“I commend the people of Nigeria and President Bola Tinubu’s government for establishing the conditions that made this monumental task possible. This refinery will propel growth, development, and prosperity by delivering energy to our nation,” Dangote emphasized.

He also lauded Tinubu for the “Naira for crude, Naira for product” initiative, which he believes will stabilize the Naira by reducing the demand for dollars by 40%.
