Breaking: Governors convene to address excess crude account and petroleum profit tax issues

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum is scheduled to hold a meeting tonight in Abuja to address several key issues, including local government administration, the excess crude account, and petroleum profit tax, among others.

This meeting follows a private gathering between the governors and the Council of Traditional Rulers at the State House on Wednesday.

Sources within the NGF Secretariat in Maitama have indicated that the governors will assemble at 9 PM.

Chaired by Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, the forum is expected to receive presentations from several notable figures, including Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, Acting Director General of the Department of State Security; Namadi Sambo, former Vice President and Chair of Delegation at the African Medical Excellence Center; and Engr. Mele Kyari, Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited.

Key agenda items for the meeting include updates on the United Nations General Assembly, discussions on the excess crude account, reconciliation of petroleum profit tax and royalties accounts, and the Transmission Company of Nigeria’s state billings for ground rent, according to one source.
