In a decisive operation on Friday, October 20, troops from the 33 Brigade of the Nigerian Army executed a successful ambush against an armed bandit in Bura, Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State. Acting on precise intelligence, they engaged the bandits, resulting in the neutralization of one and the escape of others with gunshot wounds, leaving behind traces of blood.
The recovered items included an AK-47 rifle, 14 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, a mobile phone, and a mystical amulet. Ongoing efforts are in place as troops continue to track down the fleeing bandits in the area.
On the same day, in a separate operation prompted by a report from a motorist regarding a stolen Toyota Corolla car with registration number ABJ 343 KL, the vigilant troops swiftly responded. They established a checkpoint on the Bauchi-Jos Highway and successfully intercepted the carjackers.
However, in an attempt to evade capture, the criminals crashed the stolen vehicle. The troops promptly apprehended them and subsequently handed over both the suspects and the recovered vehicle to the Nigerian Police Force for further legal action.
