Throughout the years, numerous celebrity couples have faced separations and divorces due to allegations of infidelity. Infidelity, unfortunately, has become a prevalent issue in the relationships of many celebrities today, the recent of which is the allegation making rounds that Banky W ‘cheated’ on his wife, Adesua Etomi.
As a result of these occurrences among celebrities, cheating and infidelity within celebrity couples have become common and no longer come as shocking or surprising news to the public.
While some celebrities manage to mend their relationships after receiving forgiveness from their partners, others choose to end their unions and pursue new relationships.
Here are five celebrity couples with alleged cases of infidelity compiled by Ogunwatch:
1. 2Baba and Annie
Nigerian music icon, Innocent Ujah Idibia, widely known as 2Baba or Tuface, has consistently made headlines for two things throughout his career: music and his relationships with women.
It is evident that he has been involved in sexual relationships with multiple women, as he has seven children from three different women: Sumbo Ajaba, Pero Adeniyi, and Annie Idibia. His children include Isabella, Olivia, Rose, Zion, Justin, Nino, and Innocent. 2Baba is not only a successful Nigerian artist but also one of the celebrities who have embraced the trend of having children with multiple partners.
Even before getting married, 2Baba had already become a father with three different women, including his wife. Although the couple has been married since May 2012 and has two daughters, 2Baba has been accused of infidelity on several occasions, allegedly straying from his marriage.
Throughout their 11-year marriage, there have been several instances of alleged cheating, one of which occurred in September 2021. Annie publicly called out 2Baba for sharing a house with Pero Adeniyi, one of his baby mamas. Annie accused the singer of cohabiting with his baby mama during their vacation in Disneyland, USA. Despite the strain and difficulties caused by these alleged cheating incidents, the couple has managed to resolve their issues and remain together.
2. Teebillz and Tiwa Savage
Popular Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage, tied the knot with her manager, Tunji Balogun, commonly known as Teebillz, in 2013.
Initially, Tiwa Savage and Teebillz started their relationship as business partners. Tiwa, a backup singer based in London at the time, recognized the potential for partnership with Teebillz, an A&R executive, to advance her music career. This indicates that their initial connection was based on professional aspirations.
Their marriage became one of the most celebrated celebrity weddings of the decade. They welcomed a son, Jamil Balogun, in 2015.
However, in 2016, their relationship took a turn for the worse when both Tiwa Savage and Teebillz took to social media to accuse each other of infidelity. Tiwa accused Teebillz of having an affair with a woman known as Edible Caterer, while Teebillz accused Tiwa Savage of being involved with her record label boss, Don Jazzy, industry icon 2Baba, and her label mate, Dr Sid.
The marriage ultimately came to an end in March 2018 when Tiwa Savage filed for divorce, citing insurmountable differences as the reason.
Since then, the two have gone their separate ways.
3. Davido and Chioma
Chioma, a Nigerian chef, and model from Imo State, gained fame through her relationship with Nigerian musician Davido. The couple first met in 2013 while they were students at Babcock University. Their relationship became public in 2018 when Davido dedicated a song titled “Assurance” to Chioma and gifted her a Porsche car worth N35 million at the time.
In September 2019, Davido proposed to Chioma, and they welcomed their son Ifeanyi in October 2019. Tragically, their son passed away due to drowning in 2022.
The birth of their son initially seemed to solidify their relationship. However, similar to the situation with 2Baba and Annie Idibia, allegations of infidelity and cheating have arisen within Davido and Chioma’s marriage.
Some of the allegations include Chioma being accused of having secret affairs with other men in London in 2019. It was also claimed that singer Peruzzi, signed to Davido’s record label, was aware of Chioma’s alleged infidelity.
In December 2020, their relationship took another hit when photos of Davido kissing American model Mya Yafai during a vacation in Ghana surfaced online. Chioma stopped wearing her engagement ring, and both parties unfollowed each other on Instagram.
Earlier this year, Davido was alleged to be expecting a second child with one of his baby mamas in Atlanta. This news caused tension within the family, with Davido’s father and Chioma expressing their displeasure. Chioma reportedly moved out of their home but later returned after pleas from both families.
These allegations of infidelity have caused turmoil in their relationship and put its stability at risk. However, despite their troubled past, the couple decided to get married in November 2022, choosing to move forward despite the challenges they faced.
4. Adekunle Gold and Simi
Nigerian singers Adekunle Gold and Simi secretly dated for five years before tying the knot in January 2019. Their marriage came as a surprise to fans who speculated that Simi was in a relationship with Falz at the time, given their public interactions. Simi and Falz even released a joint album, “Chemistry,” in October 2016. However, Simi’s marriage to Adekunle Gold was eventually made public.
Adekunle Gold, whose real name is Adekunle Kosoko, was accused of cheating on his wife, Simi, with a video vixen named Teminikan.
According to the blog “Gistlovers,” Adekunle Gold allegedly had an affair with Teminikan while Simi was pregnant with their baby, Deja. The singer was also alleged to have made a video featuring Teminikan as a vixen.
Despite these cheating allegations, Adekunle Gold and Simi appeared unfazed and chose not to address the reports.
5. Banky W and Adesua
This is the most recent cheating allegation involving celebrities.
Olubankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, married Adesua Etomi in 2017 after both starred as a couple in the movie “Wedding Party.”
On June 25, 2023, rumors started circulating online that Banky W had cheated on his wife, Adesua Etomi. The viral news left fans of the celebrity couple torn, expressing shock and disbelief. The gossip blog “Gistlovers” hinted at the involvement of a “light-skinned singer and politician” impregnating his alleged side chick.
The anonymous blogger claimed that the alleged affair had been ongoing for years, with the side chick frequently traveling between the USA and Nigeria.
According to the blogger, Banky W always arranged for his alleged side chick to stay at a hotel in Nigeria whenever she visited, leaving no traces for his wife to discover. The blogger further alleged that the side chick had gotten pregnant twice for Banky W in the past and had chosen to terminate those pregnancies. However, this time, she allegedly refused to have an abortion and started referring to herself as “Mrs Kinikan,” which translates to “Mrs Anonymous.”
While the blog post did not mention any names, netizens, and social media users speculated that Banky W was the person referred to in the allegations. Some even speculated that the alleged side chick was Niyola. However, no concrete evidence has been provided to substantiate these claims. Interestingly, the topic trended on Twitter shortly after the post was made.
Despite the speculation and attention surrounding the alleged cheating scandal, Banky W has chosen to remain silent and has not publicly addressed the allegations.
It is important to note that there are more cases of cheating in celebrity marriages. However, it is challenging to determine the truth behind these five highlighted stories, as they are based on allegations from either the partners themselves or fans and netizens. Without concrete evidence or official statements from the individuals involved, it remains difficult to ascertain the validity of these claims.
