Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro attributed the team’s lackluster performance against the Warriors of Zimbabwe to the extended travel time leading up to the match in Butare. Despite goals from Walter Musona and Kelechi Iheanacho resulting in a 1-1 draw at Huye Stadium in Rwanda, the disappointment followed a similar outcome against Lesotho in Uyo a few days earlier.

Expressing his concerns during the post-match press conference, Peseiro emphasized the challenging journey from Nigeria, stating, “It was a tough, difficult trip from Nigeria in the flight, many hours, the players didnโ€™t rest enough for quick play at the same level.” He went on to elaborate, “First half, very bad, second half, much better,” highlighting the team’s struggle to maintain peak performance after the demanding travel schedule.
