Auto crash claims 5 lives along Sagamu-Benin-Ore expressway

Five lives have been lost on Sunday, in a fatal crash that occurred along Ijebu-Ode Ore expressway 

The crash which occurred at about 06:09 am involved a Mack truck and a Honda Accord car with no registration number on it.

Florence Okpe, the sector command’s spokesperson while confirming the crash noted that, the suspected causes was speed and wrongful overtaking on the part of the Honda car which had a side collision with the truck

“ A total of 08 persons were involved 07 male adult and 01 female adult. 01 person was injured and 05 persons were recorded death 04 male adult and 01 female adult   while 02 persons were unhurt.

“ The suspected causes of the crash were speed and wrongful overtaking on the part of the Honda car and had a side collision with the truck

“ The injured victim was taken to General Hospital  Ijebu-ode and the dead bodies deposited at the same Hospital morgue.

The Sector Commander, ANTHONY UGA, characterised the collision as avoidable if caution was exercised, he also advised drivers to avoid making hasty turns on the motorway and instead utilise an intersection or a designated turning point.

He however, expressed his condolences to the deceased’ families and recommended them to contact the FRSC Ijebu-ode Command for more information regarding the tragedy.
