Ogun state government to tackle japa syndrome with ICT

The Ogun State Government reaffirmed its commitment to utilize Information Communication Technology (ICT) to empower its citizens, foster job creation, and combat the phenomenon of brain drain, known as “Japa syndrome.” 

Dayo Abiodun, the Special Adviser to the Governor on ICT, made this statement after the Ogun State Government received an award from the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).

The award recognized Ogun State as the second runner-up for the ‘Most Digitally Compliant State’ at the 2023 Digital Nigeria Award Dinner, held at the International Conference Center in Abuja.

Abiodun emphasized the administration’s dedication to enhancing individuals’ knowledge in areas like cyber security, data analysis, and web design to ensure their relevance in the rapidly evolving technology landscape. He also attributed this recognition to the significant progress made in embracing digital transformation under the guidance of Governor Dapo Abiodun.
