Lagos state government shuts down Alade market for environmental violations

The Lagos State Government has taken action to seal Alade Market located in the Onigbongbo area of the state due to a range of environmental violations, including issues such as poor waste management, burning of refuse in unauthorized areas, and indiscriminate dumping of refuse.

The state’s Commissioner of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, announced this move through his official social media page on Wednesday. He explained, “Alade Market in Onigbongbo has been closed due to numerous environmental infractions, including the absence of waste bins, unsanitary surroundings, unauthorized burning of refuse along roadsides, haphazard disposal of waste, and non-compliance with the regulations set by.
