JAMB receives multi-million naira virtual examination centre from NCC

Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Abeokuta has received a Virtual Examination centre as a gift from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

The facility, which includes the construction of an information and communication technology (ICT) centre outfitted with 250 tables and chairs and the installation of 250 desktop computers, was given to the management of JAMB at its office in Oke-mosan, Abeokuta.

Additionally, the NCC provided a 200KVA Generator and ICT peripherals for the facility.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Aminu Maida, Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of the Commission, revealed the cutting-edge ICT policies that the Federal Government has implemented throughout the nation’s six geopolitical zones.

Maida, represented by Engr. Kenneth Uzoekwe, Deputy Director, Projects Department, underlined the relationship ICT intends to build and how it might help candidates who sit for the JAMB examination.

He stated that the Federal Government had created two policy documents aimed at utilizing ICT for Nigeria’s socioeconomic growth.

“The commission as part of her mandate to implement the above policy documents has developed various intervention projects which are geared towards promoting ICT literacy and digital skills.

“The Virtual Examination Centre is not merely a physical space, it represents a nexus of knowledge, technology and the aspirations of our candidates who are seating for entrance examinations into higherย institutions.ย 

“It is a space where traditional assessment methods converge with modern digital solutions, creating an environment that is conducive to fair, secure and efficient evaluations,” he said.

“The Center is a testament to our commitment to academicย integrity. With robust safeguards and advanced proctoringย mechanism, assessment conducted here will maintain the highest standards of credibility and impartiality. Candidates can take their examinations with confidence, knowing that their hard work andย dedication will be accurately measured and fairly acknowledged.
