President Bola Tinubu has given the green light to Mr. Shaakaa Chira to take on the role of the official Auditor-General of the Federation. A statement released by presidential spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale on Friday stated that this decision aligns with the authority granted to the President by Section 86 of the 1999 Constitution (Amended).
The statement confirmed that the appointment was made based on the recommendation of the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC). It explained that Chira’s appointment was sanctioned after the FCSC conducted an assessment, which determined him to be the most qualified candidate, having achieved the highest score in the examination among all eligible candidates for the position.
Tinubu expressed confidence in the new Auditor-General, hoping that he will meet the expectations of Nigerians and carry out the goals of his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
