Ice Spice and Rema joined forces for their latest hit single, “Pretty Girl,” which dropped on October 13th. It’s a significant collaboration between the Bronx-born rapper, who hails from a Nigerian background through her father, and the Afro-rave sensation from Nigeria.

Although this is their first project together, both artists are no strangers to successful partnerships. Ice Spice boasts an impressive track record with four Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hits: “Karma” featuring Taylor Swift (peaking at No. 2), “Boy’s a Liar, Pt. 2” with PinkPantheress (No. 3), “Princess Diana” alongside Nicki Minaj (No. 4), and “Barbie World” with Minaj and Aqua (No. 7).

Rema, on the other hand, achieved great success with the remix of “Calm Down” featuring Selena Gomez, which reached No. 3 on the Hot 100 and dominated various Billboard charts, including U.S. Afrobeats Songs, Adult Pop Airplay, Pop Airplay, Rhythmic Airplay, and World Digital Song Sales. Their hit “Calm Down” even claimed the Best Afrobeats award at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards last month.
