Students agitation force TASUED management to remove newly introduced fees

The recent fee hike and update on Tai Solarin University of Education portal caught many off guard, and left students both surprised and concerned.

To further address the issue, the student union organized a general meeting, aptly termed a “Congress”, yesterday, October 8th, 2023, at 2pm in front of Block A on campus.

In a significant turn of events, the Student Union Government (SUG) at Tai Solarin University of Education has successfully negotiated with the university’s management to reverse the newly introduced fees on the school portal for prospective students. This development was officially announced in a press release on Sunday, 8th October 2023.

Checks by Ogunwatch reveal that the newly added fees for intending students have been removed as at the time of making this report.

The SUG, dedicated to advocating for the rights of the student body, has been relentless in its efforts to address this matter. Following productive discussions and negotiations with the university’s administration, an agreement has been reached to eliminate the controversial fees from the portal.

While the specifics of the agreement between the SUG and the university’s management have not been disclosed in the press release, it is emphasized that the union will continue to engage in discussions regarding these fees. Medical Fee: 10,000

ICT Access Fee: 10,000

Counselling Fee: 2,000

Security Fee: 2,000

Sport Fee: 2,000 

Student Affairs Fee: 2,000

Laboratory Fee: 5,000

Energy Fee: 10,000

Endowment Fee: 10,000
