The tribunal’s decision was a confirmation of the trust that the state’s citizens had placed in the governor, which was demonstrated by the election’s results and the governor’s fulfilment of the promises he made to them during his first term in office.
This assertion was made by the state chairman of the Amalgamated Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners Repairs and Riders Association of Nigeria (Acomoran), Kayode Showunmi on Saturday.
Showunmi while congratulating governor Dapo Abiodun and his deputy Noimot Salako Oyedele for their resounding victory at the state petition tribunal added that the judgement was a further testament to the fact that the judiciary was the last hope of the masses.
The Tribunal dismissed the appeal submitted by Mr. Ladi Adetubu, a PDP candidate for governor, on the grounds that the petitioner lacks sufficient evidence to demonstrate that Governor Dapo Abiodun was not legitimately elected on March 18 as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Showunmi described the judgement as being accurate, thorough, and precise while pointing out the judges’ extraordinary bravery in carrying out their duty.
“It is heart warming that the tribunal judges did not succumb to intimidation by the opposition, who deployed various antics such as propaganda from the media to sway the judgement in their favour.
“The judgement is a further testament to the fact that the judiciary is the last hope of the masses and our people” showunmi said.
The State Governor, led by Prince Dapo Abiodun and his team, was then urged to enlist the support of the opposition in order to fulfil his campaign pledges through the Building Our Future Agenda.
