The Ogun State Police have once more detained the impeached Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government, Wale Adedayo, reportedly in response to a petition from the state government.

Adedayo, who was initially suspended and then impeached by some local government lawmakers, had accused Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun with misusing funds intended for the state’s local governments during the past three years.

Adedayo on Monday evening posted on Facebook about being detained by the police and said he was prepared to pass away.

Adedayo wrote, “Son of man is being taken to Ogun State Police CID at Eleweran, Abeokuta. They claim the State Government wrote a petition against me.

Ogunwatch reports that Adedayo had claimed that the local governments in the state were operating on zero allocation in a letter to Chief Olusegun Osoba, a former governor of Ogun State and the APC’s national leader.

Few weeks ago, the chairman was impeached after being suspended due to alleged misconduct and was also invited and held by the Department of State Services, DSS, Ogun State Command, for a few days on the same charge.
