Ogun NANS: We have invited Abiodun’s SA on Student matters, says police

Following an alleged attack on several former NANS leaders on Sunday, the Ogun state police command have invited Comrade Azeez Adeyemi, Special Assistant to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Students Affairs.

In response to the alleged attack, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi stated that Adeyemi had been invited at the Eleweran Headquarters of the Nigerian Police before the end of business on Tuesday, and that if he did not accept the invitation would be arrested.

Nobody is above the law, the PPRO who disclosed that a formal complaint has been made against the Governor’s aide said, adding that Adeyemi has a responsibility to defend himself against the charge.

โ€œThe person so mentioned has been invited by the police, we are expecting him before the close of work today, failure of which we will go after him and get him arrested.

โ€œThe invitation has been extended to him, nobody is above the law and the police is duty bound to listen to such allegations and the person so alleged also has the right to defend himself.โ€

On Monday, it was claimed that Adeyemi, a former NANS national public relations officer, had organised an attack on former NANS leaders in Ogun State while they were having a meeting.

He was accused of personally stabbing some of the leaders and masterminding kidnappings of some studentโ€™s leaders in the State.
