The Chairman/CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri, seemingly has disclosed the reason why Nigerians were banned in Dubai.
Posting on her official Twitter account, she said that the crime rate of Nigerians is one of the highest in the UAE country, Dubai.
“Unfortunately, the sad reality is that our crime rate over there is one of the highest !”
Abike’s disclosure followed the tweet of a tweep who said: Someone once argued with me that the economy in Dubai will collapse without Nigerians.
The United Arab Emirates Immigration authorities had earlier announced a visa ban on Nigerians adding that all submitted applications are rejected and fees non-refundable.
Although no reason was given for the ban, the Dubai authorities declared that all applications were on-hold until issues between the UAE government and the Nigerian government were resolved.
