Following the demonstrations of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic students against the school management’s imposition of registration fee and simultaneous hike of existing fees, changes have been effected.

Ogunwatch learnt this morning that the controversial registration fee which was previously reduced from N20,000 to N10,000 has now been totally erased from the students portal and it is not longer payable.

“In a swift response to the intervention of the State Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR, the Governing Council has directed the Management of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta to suspend the payment of registration fee by all newly admitted students immediately”, Yemi Ajibola, the school’s spokesman, addressing the development, said.

Ogunwatch had earlier reporter the defiant attitude of the Polytechnic’s management, who despite the students agitation threatened resumption of the second-semester examinations which was halted.

Students under the auspices of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Ogun state chapter, yesterday staged a protest demanding that the management reverse the increments of some fees, and also the newly introduced #10,000 registration fee.
