In a chilling and gruesome discovery, Ogun State has been rocked by a horrifying case of murder and ritual killing. The Onipanu Divisional headquarters initiated an investigation following a report of a missing person on January 9, 2024. The victim, 35-year-old Sulaimon Adijat, was reported missing after being invited on a date by Adebayo Olawale Azeez of Ajegunle Road, Atan Ota, Ogun State.
Despite exhaustive efforts to locate her, Sulaimon Adijat remained elusive, with her mobile phone switched off since the day of her disappearance. The investigation took a dark turn, leading to the arrest of seven individuals directly implicated in the abduction and brutal murder of Sulaimon Adijat.
The suspects have been identified as Moses Abidemi, Oluwo Samuel Monday, Prophet Peter Oluwalolese, Akinwunmi Ifatosin, Prophet Jamiu Yusuf, Sheriff Agbai, and Osojieahen Alioneitouria. According to the police statement, the Anti-Kidnapping Unit conducted a thorough investigation, uncovering a sinister plot to perform a money ritual known as ‘Oshole.’
The disturbing chain of events began on November 19, 2023, when Sherifff Agbai and Osojieahen Alioneitouria approached Oluwo Samuel Monday, also known as Oluwo Mandela, with a request to perform the money ritual promising Two Hundred Million Naira within seven days. Oluwo Samuel Monday allegedly charged the duo Eight Hundred Thousand Naira for the ritual and agreed to prepare the necessary materials.
Further complicating the scenario, Oluwo Samuel Monday enlisted the help of Peter Oluwalolese, an alleged Prophet of a white garment church in Ibadan known for dealing in human parts. Peter Oluwalolese, in turn, contacted his associate, Prophet Jamiu Yusuf, notorious for supplying human parts for ritual purposes.
To source a suitable victim, Peter Oluwalolese reached out to Abidemi Moses, a herbalist in Atan Ota. Abidemi Moses, apprenticed to Adebayo Olawale Azeez, allegedly engaged in the grisly business of harvesting human parts for sale. Sulaimon Adijat was lured on a date to Sunshine Hotel, Atan Ota, where she met a horrific fate.
Abidemi Moses and other perpetrators reportedly killed Sulaimon Adijat, dismembered her body, and transported the remains to Abidemi Moses’s shrine. Oluwo Samuel Monday allegedly prepared the body parts in a local pot, burning them in Abidemi Moses’s house. Prophets Peter Oluwalolese and Jamiu Yusuf were implicated in the shocking ritual, which included the sacrifice of a ram.
The ritual took a macabre turn when Sheriff Agbai and Osojieahen Alioneitouria claimed the money ritual failed to yield the expected Two Hundred Million Naira within the stipulated seven days, despite using it for three weeks. An ensuing search at Abidemi Moses’s shrine on February 3, 2024, revealed ten female handbags, two 25-liter gallons containing human parts, an axe, and two cement sacks containing human bones.
Speaking to newsmen on Thursday, Sheriff said that he was told by Oluwo samuel that the arrangement he was paying for was a prayer, despite discussing the possibilities of buying a cow as part of the ritual arrangement.
Asked whether he was aware of the possibility of a human part being used in the concoction given to him by Oluwo, Sheriff said, “There was never a time that I knew (that there was a human part). It is only my friend who told me there may be a human part in it. But when I called him (Oluwo Samuel), he told me there was nothing like that.
Disclosing how he was arrested, Sheriff said that after the promise of enriching him failed, he started calling Oluwo Samuel, whom he had paid money to for the retrieval of his money, unaware that he had already been arrested. It was during this process that Sheriff was tracked down and arrested by Ogun state police, as an accomplice in the crime.
The relatives of the deceased identified one of the recovered handbags as belonging to Sulaimon Adijat. All seven arrested suspects confessed to their roles in the shocking crime. Investigations are underway to apprehend other fugitive suspects, and the case is expected to be charged to court upon the completion of the investigation. The public will be updated as further details emerge.
Exibits recovered include, One Axe, Ten Female Handbags, Three Local Pots, One Wooden Box Containing Money Ritual; Two Bags Containing Human Bones and Human Parts; Two Gallons Containing Human Parts; Charms; Crown and Staff of Office of Oba Isegun Zone One, Atan Ota, Ogun State; and Crown and Staff of Office of Oluwo Masote of Ifo Zone, Ogun State.
